And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through him.

Encounter God Retreat November 29, 2004
Enjoyed God’s Presence...
Our spiritual journey in the city often times makes us physically tired and spiritually dried up. Surrounded by jungles, the presence of God eludes us. Like a exhausted traveler, we thirst for an intimate experience with our God.
How can we experience spiritual renewal as we serve God? We need to include in our journey a regular time for retreat. A quiet place may not necessarily lead us to silence. Noise also comes from our fears, from our worries, from our bondages, our problems and pains. So we need to create a quiet space in our heart where we can truly listen to God.
BBC has organized a retreat – Encounter God Retreat – especially designed for high school students last November 29, 2004. It was a whole-day activity. The topics include Spiritual Warfare by Ariel, Darkness to Light by Kaye, Bondage to Freedom by Kuya Toto, Cursed to Blessed by Ate Jing, Impure to Pure by Ate Mina, Broken to Whole by Ate Apes, Rebellion to Submission by Jay-jay,
Living in Victory by Ate Joiz, The Cross by Kuya Alex, Infilling of the Holy Spirit by Kuya Augie, and God’s Purpose and Vision by Ate Beth.
The retreat has become a time of reflection for all of us. We have pondered in our minds and have listened to our hearts. We have reflected on what God has spoken. We were truly blessed because the Lord has stirred the young hearts and minds of these students. They responded to His call, repented their sins and rejoiced for His forgiveness. We have enjoyed God’s presence and fully embrace His love. It was indeed a remarkable experience for all of us. The students who were not available to attend the said retreat was requesting for a Part 2. Of course they did missed a lot. Praise be to Him alone!
